Borosilicate glass is a superior type of glass and is considered to be one of the best options for glass containers for storage. The fact that it contains boron trioxide gives it an extremely low coefficient to support thermal expansion.  As such, even when exposed to extreme temperatures, it would not crack as traditional glass. Durability is one of the key reasons why wineries, laboratories, and restaurants prefer borosilicate glass. With this in mind, it is worth noting that not all glass is made in the same manner.
